Stephen Eberling has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with Colorado State University. Classes in philosophy and creative writing were also attended.
Employed by major construction management and engineering firms for the next ten years mainly as a field representative during construction of power plants, substations and transmission lines required relocation to many states across America, including a term with Hughes Aircraft in Los Angeles. Work often required correspondence with contractors and material suppliers. Writing was essential while managing contracts, change orders, schedules, and installation and operation manuals.
Unfamiliar with big cities he moved back to Colorado finding it enjoyable at a large open pit gold mine located at timberline in the San Juan mountains. Being a maintenance electrician permitted getting a master electrician license making it possible to buy a house and start Rocky Mountain Electric Company in the San Luis Valley.
After ten years Steve began working for larger contractors building in Telluride, Aspen and Vail, until the market crash of 2008. As luck had it, he was able to get in British Petroleum’s natural gas fields located in southern Colorado and New Mexico, first an as electrician but soon promoted as an engineer writing considerable reports up-grading and verifying pump, compressing station and water transfer sites with respect to the National Electric Code. Luck of the cards when the price of wholesale natural gas significantly lowers.
Moving closer to family, Steve now lives in Silver Cliff, CO and is writing freelance. Several of his articles, copy and short stories are made available on the Thunder Sense website @ www.thndrsns.com.
